So far I'm not impressed! I grew up on the original, so now watching this I'm quite disappointed. It is a bad *** car though. Can't deny that!!

I read an article in Hot Rod about the movie Transformers. Apparently Ford was not pleased that their vehicle was slated as the bad guy while Chevy was the star good guy in the movie....which is why Barricade is a "Saleen S281" and not a "Ford Mustang".

So my guess is they jumped at the chance to throw the Mustang in as the quintessential "good guy" in a remade classic (via Knight Rider) and took full advantage of the opportunity.
