Yeah. GWB and republican dominated congress were so much better. They converted Clinton's budget surplus into a deficit. They cut the income tax primarily for the rich, which cost the budget something like a trillion dollars or more so far. That was awesome. He and his cabinet purposefully mislead the public in order to start the trillion dollar Iraq war. They also oversaw the worst asset bubble in American history since the great depression. I just can't think of anything positive that republicans have done in DC in 2000-2008. 8 years of wasted time.
Just pointing out that not all republicans are always great. Gingrich and Romney seem like nice and reasonable presidential nominees to me. What annoys me is all the negativity and trash being thrown by the right at the President Obama. Most of it is undeserved. The country had accomplished some good things under his tenure. The financial meltdown was averted. We finally have a health care reform, which in my opinion is a good thing. However, good or bad, at least it got things moving in DC. American troops are finally out if Iraq. Bin Laden is dead. The economy is bouncing back. If you ask me, he's looking pretty strong to enter the 2012 election.

I agree with most of your post. I like Romney is a decent candidate, but Gingrich is to much of a hypocrite and will bring to much political dirt with him. I mean how do you want to impeach the president for cheating on his spouse while he was cheating on his. McCain was a great candidate until he got Palain. I think the last election would have been a lot closer if he had a decent running mate.

What are you referring to? I do not understand what you meant by "Yes, you do seem to forget"????

My statement was that people are fickle (in voting/support) they are fooled by "honeyed" words of politicians (Rep and Dems). People show blind party allegiance. Also people forget on how we got where we are. If you want to look back at why for one are economy is bad...America used to make 70% of the world's goods(30 years ago), but now we make less than 10%. We are a consumerist society. it's like a household that spends more than they make. Our economy is not going to get better until start making and exporting our goods.

stimulus did work that's why reps are trying to take credit for the stimulus package while bashing it at Tha same time, and sending letters to the president asking for money. Bobby Jindal for example goes out and says the stimulus doesn't work and government has no right in the private sector. But as soon as the bp oil spill hit FEMA should be the one to come clean it up. Ridiculous

the problem with the country is we have lifers in Congress and the Senate... they need to be on term limits like everyone else. they also should be made to pay their own health care and invest in some sort of retirement program instead of living off our money...

Here here! Your comment on Congress is spot on. I mean what job do you know that you can do 6 years and get medical and other benefits for the rest of your life. If people really want to see things change then we need fresh new faces in Congress with term limits.

Businesses can't afford to make goods here because of all of the government regulation. OSHA, unions, healthcare, etc etc. You simply cannot turn a profit and manufacture here. It's RIDICULOUS when people can manufacture a car overseas and import it to the US and it's cheaper than making it here. WTF? Yet people still think it's the business just being greedy. No.. they are in business to make money and they can't because of the idiots making laws on them.

No stimulus is not just government spending. FEMA is a disaster agency put there just FOR things like the gulf oil spill. Jinal was asking for exactly what he should have been. Stimulus is when the government attempts bottom up economics by seizing money from the private sector and reinjecting into the private sector to get spending going. Unfortunately it can't, because the people who got the money NEEDED the money because the people the money was taken from had to fire them so they could give their old paychecks to the government.

American Made used to mean something. Look around homes across the US and you will see a lot of Made in China, Malaysia, etc...

but if government shouldn't do a stimulus he shouldn't ask for FEMA funds because the people have to pay for both if u say government shouldn't be involved in the private sector then government shouldn't be there when the private sector fuks up
