I have a HC1800 under the hood of my 99 honda accord. i bought this off craigslist from a guy who does db drag here in the sf bay area. he hooked the battery up for me and everything. Right now im running 1000rms max with my current set up. As i was driving away from his house my engine turned off and all my dashboard lights came on so i knew it was the battery. first thing i thought was the battery was dead. but then it started back up without a problem. i have checked the volts on it and its sitting at 14.3 volts about. He told me hes only had the battery about a month so its basically brand new. What i dont get is when i drive and come to a stop at a stop sign (this is after about 2 weeks) my car will stutter. Any ideas anyone?

i have taken my car to kragen and they run their test on my electircal system and they said my charging system is fine and that my battery is the problem. To do their test they need to kno the cold cranking amps, however i have no idea waht it is because i havent found it anywhere, so i told him its probably around 900 or so. and he tells me my battery is dead. Anyone know the cold cranking amps? and do you think my batteries dead?

The voltage you gave (14.3v) is the voltage of your alternator, not the battery. You took that reading with the car running. You need to take the voltage of the battery with the engine off and the NEG- wire removed. That is called an open circuit resting voltage. That is the true voltage of the battery. If it is less than 12.8v, it needs a recharge. If it is less than 10.0v, there is little hope of saving it.

Hope that helps.
