The brief time Dennis Archer was in office, it was coming back. Crime rates went down, he got the new stadiums built, he got the new casinos built, but after two terms inexplicably quit running, and Kilpatrick ran. Kwame is also getting credit for what Archer started. All the renovation downtown was started by Archer.
