Killing a yellowtop...

Is it possible? I have one, But i recently took it to autozone to have it checked, they said it wouldnt hold charge? Wasnt sure if they even did it. It used to be in my truck, but i took it out and stuck it in the cellar. Now, i was going to put it back in for my system requirments. Before i wasted my time, figured id ask.

F*** yella tops. I had 2 go out on me for the same reason, it would just not hold a charge. Gotta regular batt in there now. I am however looking for something new.

All batteries get old my friend, even expensive pretty yellow ones.

I'm thinking there was a bad batch of yellowtops, because there have been lots of them failing recently that were just slightly older than one year.

Yup, i bought a red and a yellow top both last fall, (2004) and they both died on me this fall (2005), took the red top to summit, and got a brand new one, no questions asked, took the yellow top to autzone, and apparently the yellow tops have only a 1 year warranty, while the redtops have a 3 year.

I say screw the yellow tops, and get more red tops. Not deep cycle? Whoe gives a crap, they'll replace it for free for 3 years, and it works a hell of a lot better, imo.
