kicker

FOR CHRISTS SAKE.. quit saying the sq on ANY of the kicker L7 or L5 is BAD.. it is not bad!!!! its not going to win competitions in sound quality.. that is FOR SURE.. but with the box i currently have it is able to hit EVERY SINGLE NOTE WITH ACURACY... no it doesnt sound like the note as it came out of the drum of the guitar.. but i realized that when i decided to have a 1000 watt subwoofer vs. 200 watt components.. but it is VERY VERY capable of reproducing tones with a fair amount of accuracy.. AND SLAMMING THEM INTO YOUR HEAD LIKE A BRICK. trust me 90% of people would rather be able to do that then to have their idq's meet every note with anticipation and hit a poor *** 136... sound a little better than a dang door speaker...

i've had both.. idqs and a L7... i've had both extremes in my car and compare the two subs... they were even in the same car... and it all boils down to the fact that for performing like a SUBWOOFER i was most impressed with my L7... given the idq made my system pick up when i was listening to eric clapton and jewel *(which i do listen to from time to time)* but with my main musical emphasis being hip hop and electro/synthpop... i dont NEED the accuracy of those subs, and was actually disappointed that the two subs didnt hit as hard as i desired.. where as the kicker fills into my listening preference PERFECTLY...

oh and if you say that i should have put those idqs in a ported enclosure.. i will laugh right in your face, as i spent about 20 dollars in long distance calls trying every box that image dynamics had recommended, including ported enclosures and a sine wave type box... and they sound like TURDS in anything else..

The L5/7's need big boxes to sound good...and believe me, they do sound pretty good in fairly large boxes...(upwards of 5-7cu.ft. sealed)
