i was lookin into buying two 12 " kicker comp vr subs and was wondering if they were good subs for the money, i'd like spl, but i also want some sq, and what would be a good amp to power them.

one more Question, does it make a diff. if i used two mono amps or a two chanel amp

thanks

i have also been wanting to buy some 12" comp vr's. check out ebay, i have found brand new comp vr's for around $160 for 2 of them plus shipping. let me know if u find them any cheaper.

p.s. one of my friends has 2 kicker comp's and they hit hella good thats why i was lookin at the vr's, figured theyll be even better

there are always ways to get rid of the "muddy" sound in some woofer's just ask audiolife or myself for that matter now. make a bigger than rec. box typically get's rid of a muddy woofer if they are half way decent at sq. yeah comp vr's are good subs for the price.

i agree completely with bumping blazer those subs can hit hard and sound nice doing it I had a pair running off my PPI 2600 amp and man they hit hard cant go wrong with them as far as amps go look into the PPI amps they are great and underrated but a little on the pricey side or look into the JBL 600x1 that should slam them hard

thanks

type R's hands down very underrated subs can handle around 500watts rms a piece and thump clean and hard. while those comp vr's would just not like that amount of power and possibly blow.

I'd have to disagree about the power handling on the Comp vr's... personally, I've thrown over 3000 watts into a Comp vr 12, in a small sealed box (110v power outlet) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

it held it for multiple burps.. the surround was stretched beyond belief.. lol

I would pick the Rs over the VR's though... much better sound, and a similar output..

i've gotta pair of compvrs in a massive ported box (6.2 cu. ft. after displacement)

and its thumpn thumpn... and theyre only pushed by a memphis 16-ST500D.

i believe the vrs are worth the money, ive never really heard the type'rs up close so i cant say much bout them, but i hear good things bout them.

hope your system comes out LOUD!
