Kicker ZX400.1 Bass Control Remote

I did a search for this, didn't find anything.

I owned a Kicker KX400.1 up until recently when it got some water damage. I purchased the ZX400.1 to replace it. Both units support "a" bass remote. The KX came with one, while the ZX didn't interestingly enough. A friend of mine said to be careful using different remotes, as he has witness some bad results in doing so.

Upon further reading, "The ZXRC is compatible with any KICKER amplifier equipped with a REMOTE BASS jack on its end panel (IX / ZX / DX / ZXM)." Seeing as how my amp has the jack, it's odd to not see it included in this list of ALL amps.

I can't even seem to find my KX400.1 online, I find similar models but they look vastly different.

So my question is: Can I safely use the old Bass Remote that came with my old Kicker KX400.1 with my new ZX400.1?

Shouldn't hurt it if it works it works. Only thing that might not work correctly is clip lights of frequency controls but Idk if that knob even has thous options or not. But from past experiences I've changed knobs and not have anything blow using the same brand of course. On another note Memphis makes an inline knob that actuates the Input voltage. So u set the amp with the knob wide open then u adjust it to you're liking

I'd be fine with the "if it works it works" mindset, but according to a friend (mechanic) he had a bad experience using an old remote with a new amp (same brand) and the result was a bricked amp.

The only thing this remote controls is bass.

Here's the site for the new remote (the one I don't have): ZXRC | KICKER. It looks identical to the one I do have (KXREMOTE). According the last site, it says the KXREMOTE is compatible with ZX and KX amps. I dunno...

Well it's kinda a take my word or his situation maybe a few others can chime in for u but I do t blame u for being cautious
