I'm trying to choose an amplifier for my MTX XT12-44 (250W, DVC @ 4Ohm each).
I concluded at the following amplifiers: Kicker ZX300.1 and MTX TC4001.
ZX300.1 is class A/B, though TC4001 is class D. I've been told A/B amplifiers produce warmer sound...
ZX300.1 has fixed Xover adjustments, TC4001 has variable, both hi-pass and subsonic. I don't know if latter has an advantage
Kicker one looks more promising and costs less than the MTX one. Though they belong in different power range... I can get the ZX300.1 for around $320 and the TC4001 for $385.
Obviously, I can't test both amplifiers... I have to choose 1 before I can listen to it...
What is your opinion on the above amplifiers? Do you suggest another one? Please help.
EDIT: I forgot another one: ZX300.1 has a SNR of >95dB at rated power and TC4001 has SNR of 75dB rated at 1W. Would that be important at 20~80Hz?
