Kicker ZX2500.1 @ 1 ohm?

Well I've been thinking about changing up my system from my DD 9510G and going with 12s or 15s, and I want to keep my ZX2500.1. But with it running at 2 ohm it can be a challenge to find subs to work with it since everything nowadays is geared towards a final nominal impedance of 1 ohm. It's not that hard, but not that easy. I'm more interested in knowing if I can run it down that low without it frying on my stock alt and small second battery because I would if I could.

Anyway, the question: how many of you guys have run your ZX2500.1s at 1 ohm and how have they responded to it?

with rise it wont see 1 ohm if the coils read 1 or close to it... rise is a pain //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

this is something that has been discussed before on the forum quite a bit..

search ftw....

Yeah, I apologize:

At least I did look at some point and found it. Yes, I do know I can run 2 Dual 2 ohm subs (15s) or 4 Dual 4 ohm subs (12s) or 1 Dual 1 ohm (18) and have them all equal a 2 ohm nominal impedance. I was really wondering if I could safely run my ZX2500.1 at 1 ohm instead of strictly 2 ohm.

Anyway, since you're here, what do you think about these options off the ZX2500.1(all of which are at 2 ohm nominal):

4 10" Dual 4 ohm Type R's - $388 shipped (eBay), 314 sq in cone area, 6 cubes net tuned to 35 hz, sub back port back

4 12" Dual 4 ohm Stereo Integrity BMs - $440 picked up, 452 sq in cone area, 7.5 cubes net tuned to 35 hz, sub up, port back

2 15" Dual 2 ohm RE SXs - $450 shipped, 353 sq in cone area, 7 cubes net tuned to 35 hz, sub back , port back

1 18" Incriminator Death Penalty - $???, 254 sq in cone area, 7 cubes net tuned to 35 hz, sub back, port back

Right now I want to do the 4 12" BMs, but I'm struggling to make a box that will fit in my car without losing the ability to see out of my rear view window.

i dunno if i would try that amp at 1 ohm w/o having a beefy electrical...
but i have heard that some people on the forum run theirs at 1 ohm...

Yeah, that was my concern. But I don't know, it doesn't seem to be that much of a problem.

The 2500 is supposed to be real efficient, but no matter what if you're running 3000w at 1ohm that thing is going to pull some current. I wouldnt try it without some good electrical upgrades. That can be an expensive mistake.
