Kicker SoloX

I have an oppertunity to get Kicker SoloXs for a great price because of where I work. I need a daily driver that wont be pushed that hard, but I want something louder than what I have. Would these be good? How are sound quality and durability? Opinions?

you would need a lot of power to get a Solo X moving. id say about 3000 watts per sub.. not the sub for you in my opinion.

I had the solox 10, and at the time the only amp I had was a hifonics 1206d. Which is far

from what that sub can handle. I would have to say that the x was the loudest sub iv

owned so far. Plus it has those inter changeable coils which is awesome. I bough mine from

a friend that wired it up wrong and shorted the voice coil out for 200$$ and then bought the replacement coil of ebay for like 175$$ and it was the new stile the one that had the solid black cone...the one that come on it was the gray one. Anyway So to answer your ?? that sub is a beast if you have enough power to send to it.

Believe me its an absolute monster but as already stated it takes a TON of power to really see anything out of it. I have a colossus II running it and I can tell it needs more. If you get the 18 the size alone is quite impressive but very heavy for a daily sub.

I had a dealer tell me one time when the L7's first came out that the new

(Square) coils in the kicker L7 were crap and wouldnt last long before it blew

i had the sx18 off two kx2500.1s and blew one of my amps reconed it to a dual one ohm to run off one kx and it still got really loud id say 2500 watts is plenty

i am running one one 18 solo x on a jbl GTI 6000, it is seeing 7200 watts from that amp and is pretty happy doing it , i ran it on one of my ZX2500's and it wasnt worth having in installed, one L7 15'' was louder

I ran the 12 w/ my zx2500 @ 4ohm for daily. 1200w will get it moving nicely.

No vids no pics sorry, no digicam.

I run it daily, yes its **** loud but not as loud as it should be, i was having alternator issues the last time we tested it at the shop i i could get a 148.3 before it would drop voltage and go into protect, got the local alternator shop to build me a 300 amp cs 144 but havent got it installed due to lack of time from working two jobs and freezing cold weather
