Kicker remote bass knob question

Hey,

I had decided not to install it at first because I thought it was just an extension of the bass boost knob. Everyone has told me to leave the bass boost at 0 so I said well then I don't need the knob.

I decided to plug it in just to see what it did, when I plugged it in and it was at 0 it completely killed the bass, then I cranked it up and it went back to normal volume. It would seem that when the knob is at like 90-100% my bass is as loud as it would be when the knob isn't plugged in.

Like I would unplug it, listen, plug it in and turn it up until it sounded the same as before.

So is it just a knob that lets me turn down the bass when the song has too much bass?

Thanks

Ohhh, so it is safe to have it plugged in at maximum level (assuming your gain is set properly on your amp)

What is the real purpose of it then? And why does it say Bass Level on it?

Yes, it is safe to have it plugged in on the maximum level.

Basically its just there for daily driving if you don't want as much bass for certain songs/music styles. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

It says bass level on it so n00bs look at it and go "wow, this knob makes it uberloud y0"

hey Tommy, ever notice what the gain knobs go too? 11...why, because 11 is 1 step louder, than 10

Why not just make 10 louder?

/spinal tap.

I would set up the rest of system (i.e. the gain control on the amp, the sub out level adjustment on the HU, etc.) so for most of your music you'd have the the knob on the remote at about half. That way you can adjust it either up or down as needed.

actually, mines pretty touchy. i set mine to where about 10 on the knob will be full output on most music, that way i can go slightly louder if needed. most of the time though, i'm playing classic rock and such and have it at about 4 or 5.
