Kicker L7 Questions!!!

1. They dont work better at a certain ohm, it depends on the amp and the vc config of the sub(s)

2. Most people port them, ask polecat or pm him

3. You dont need to use a kicker amp, Im guessing the MRD is an alpine amp, you could use that if you want, but there are cheaper amps out there.

4. That depends on the box size and the subs thermal. Ask polecat or people that use them.

Thank You

anyone else own L7's? that can give me some installation and equipment advice???

and some suggestions for an amp cheaper the the MRD-M1001 and KX1200.1 which are generally the same price

and just an extended question here.... whats the difference between the KX and SX series when it cumz 2 KICKER MONO BLOCK AMPS??

and with L7 12" in the smallest sealed box possible how big all up would it be? im just checking my boot space

I can tell ya that I was running 2 Memphis MOJO's to 2 L7 12's for comps, and never had any trouble

I'm thinkin bout getting 1 L7
1. do they work better at 1ohm 2ohm or 4ohm

2. sealed or ported

3. should i use an official Kicker mono amp?? or can i get an MRD

4. how much RMS can i overpower an L7 n still sound safe
see post two for more help...good job!

woofer config means nadda, amp specific...ported for sure, for more output. Larger sealed for more SQ.

power is power, as long as it's an amp from a 'reputable' amp company...

and over RMS is ok, as long as it's not pure distortion, and power also is enclosure dependant.

If you want SQ go with something else. I was just playing with my 15L7 went from 2.5-5.0 boxs tryn to get the best one. Ported is the way to go but the ones I did were all sealed. I have it in a suv. It gets loud, but its not the sound I prefer. I was running 2 12w6v2 jls and they were so much better for the style that I like. This is just my opinion. Some people love the solos. I am just not one of them I llove the comp vr's though. I would look into some of them if I was you. The seam to have more sq than the solos and do get loud as well. Also will save you more money there cheaper and take less to push them.
