Kicker l7 question

What my question is,i have a kicker 12' l7 4 ohm and can it hurt ti to run it in a box that is below the minimum size ported box.The minimum kicker says is 1.75 and i have it in a 1.6 cu.ft. box.Can this hurt the sub,can it cause the sub to blow,because i have blown two subs in this box and im not sure why.

wasn't the box, chances are you probably clipped your other two subs to death.

if the box isn't sealed well that could be an issue as well. leaky boxes make subs peak quickly causing distortion and death

you're clipping the shit out of your sub. I can't believe kicker is replacing it. Read about setting gains, THEN install the sub. You'll be okay, but L7's want airspace. I guarantee it'll sound a lot louder in a larger box.

there is a gain setting tutorial on this forum. read about it and learn how to set your amp up so you are not clipping your sub. you would also be much more pleased with a larger ported box.

ok im getting a new box soon then ill take it somewhere different to get the setting on the amp right.The last 2 times circutcity has set all the settings so it wasnt me,but ill go to an actual car audio shop next time,thanks for the help

You are blowing the sub either from too much heat or too much excursion. Its possible the small box is tuned too high, resulting in too much excursion below the tuning frequency.
