Hi,

I have a kicker 12" L7 (2 actually, but only one wired atm) powered by a hifonics brutus 1500 amp. It was working fine last night, however this morning the sub quit working. When looked at it, i tried to push it down and was unable to and was stiff. (subs are in a sealed box).

sounds very much blown man

I'm pretty much sure its blown... I rehooked the wires and it started working again... but it sounds like shit and whenever i pushed the sub down with my thumb it wont come back up by itself. Yup, kicker sucks.

they're loud for the little bit of time that they last. My friend had some L7's....blew them in less than a month. Now they sit in his room, in box, doing nothing

It kills me when people say that Kicker sucks but they likely do not know what they're doing. When subs blow 90% of the time it is user error. Frying a coil is not the subs fault. I had a L7 15 on a 2500d daily and it didn't blow, and I'm about to put that L7 on a 2500.1

diddo.

dont just blame kicker.... i dont think they got to where they are today by making horrible products but they cool, do you? may i ask how you went about setting your amp? how did you break it in?

I don't break subs in, they break themselves in. I set my amps by ear and where I feel that the subs will not meet their mechanical or thermal limits.
