Kicker L7 Blown can you recone it?

I have 2 blown L7's can you recone these with a solo x recone by chance anyone every tried?

salty id go with a negtive diffrent coil motor and such u also have a pm

I wish they sold recones for it or if you could use a solo x recone in it would be sweet.. I know there very different but I thought I would ask to see if any one tried it just to see if it was a way to make it work.. Cheap upgrade.. lol

i got a messed up L7 15" too. its not the coils , the cone broke [ thumping bass with a toy in front of it]

I'm pretty sure the motors have different gaps between the Solo X and the L5's and the L7's.

only way to recone that is to send it in. Kicker will not send out recones for an L5 or L7

i have owned 4 of them and they each lasted me about 10 minutes of listening time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif oh well i only paid 150 for my first 2 and took the other two back to circuit city and got money back

edit: first 2 the tensil leads melted from whatever its connected to and the second 2 i blew

L7's have a 2 3/8" coil...

kicker wants a little over $300 to fix it. not including s&h. i emailed back to the kicker rep that "i might as well buy a new one" [cheaper]

yea kicker is a rip off directly from them, to trade in a brand new 08 12" l7 sub that was played for 10 mins and had a bad sound to it and trade it in and be replaced wanted around 350 and thats with my sub they keep i laughed and said i can buy two brand new subs 2008 models around 400
