do you guys think this will be a good box for a 15" l7?

Lol just cut the hole square. I have had a few boxes port back and sub up. Wasn't to big of a difference but it will depend a little on the car its in also

why not just have a builder make you one for cheaps and it will be right for the sub in every way

im new to box building. with that said how would an L-shape port be better?

Just make sure you round the port so u don't get as much port noise and make sure you put 45's in the box
