Kicker CVX vs L7

Hey everyone, I am looking to get either a kicker vs10L7 or a vcvx10. The vs contains a 10" L7 while the cvx has a 10" cvx sub. Both are rated to handle 600 watts rms. I would be powering either one with a polk momo c500.1 providing 550 watts at 2 ohms(that is what it said on the birthsheet) which I already have running my current sub setup. I was wondering what the is soundwise between the cvx and the L7. Thank you so much in advance.

dont know from personal experience but i have heard both are really closei've heard that the cvx has a little better sq as it is a round sub and the L7 is a bit louder hence the square cone

biggest difference is cone area. do a search on that.

area of a circle vs area of a square. motor should be the same tho from what i've read.

BTW: are you going to port it?

if not go CVX, if port, either way is fine.

I am getting one of the prefab kicker factory enclsures that come loaded with the sub straight from kicker. It comes ported. The cvx is cheaper so I thought their must be a reason.

How will a kicker l7 compare to a polk audio sr124? I have that in my car now but I am giving it to my brother. I had it in a box wich was 1.21 cu ft which is a bit bigger than what they called for.

That polk is a very high end sub. Its expensive. Are you sure the kicker is so much better? I hope you are right that the kicker is better.

you should consider subs that ain't so mainstream..

and just cause its expensive doesn't mean ur getting "bang 4 buck"

That amp is putting out 550 watts at two ohms. That is what it said on the birthsheet. My rsx is small and a hatch so less power is needed. Even if you recommend a expensive sub, if it is sold on ebay, I am sure i can get a good deal. What do you recommend over the l7?

Well the loaded kicker enclsure would cost me 300 on ebay shipped. I don't think I would want to spend more than that.
