i currently have alpine type r's (10") but i just ordered 10" kicker cvx's i dont really care for sound quality. do u think the cvx's will hit harder? i just finished my box for my truck cause i wanted to try out a ported box. help me out with some info

CVX 10: Sd = 379 cm sq, Xmax = 15.4mm

CVX air volume moved per cycle = 169.2 cubic cm

Type R 10: Sd = 332 cm sq, Xmax = 18.1mm

Type R air volume moved per cycle = 186.1 cubic cm

The Type R has the theoretical capability to move more air per cycle, but the enclosure, as well as many other factors, will have a big say in which is louder.

Either sub should welcome the 850w rms (as long as it's clean power) from each of your Kenwood amps, so it's probably going to be so close, you won't be able to tell too much difference at full tilt. Although the lower Qts of the CVX would point it out as a slight favor for a ported box.

well i guess we will find out here pretty soon the cvx's come into today so i need to finish my box. ill just sell whichever one i dont like i guess
