Kicker CVRs

I got 2 Kicker CVR 12s hooked up to a ZX 750.1. I know that Kicker is more SPL than SQ, but when my subs play midbass, higher bass, those notes aren't very audible compared to the deep bass. My subs play the deep bass hella good but all the other notes **** and aren't too strong. Also, the deep bass kinda over rides the other notes. Is this the way CVRs are? Or is it because my gain is set to high with the bass boost 1/3 up? I have my subs in a prefab, ported box right now and I'm going to build a box soon.

1) Your box is ported, probably tuned in the 30's, resulting in a peak in that region

2) You have bass boost making that peak even bigger

3) Your enclosure is in a trunk car

4) Cabin gain

I am currently running two 10" cvrs in a custom ported box, tuned somewhere around 37hz. It hits all the notes very well. My suggestion is tuning your box a little higher and turning off bass boost. You will be suprised at these subs. They can sound very good in the right box.

Why would you want to hit higher bass? And how high are we talking? High bass like 50-55 or like 80 or something.

Build a different box and tune to whatever kicker recommends. Idk but probably 37 or 38.

Turn that off. Make sure your LP crossover isn't set to low. If it is, that would severely hurt higher bass.
I don't have a LP on my head unit but my bass is set to 80 hz on the head unit and around 80hz on the amp.
