Im planning on getting two of the kicker cvr's in a few weeks or so... and I just want to know peoples opinion on them if you have that subwoofer or used to have them....

Theyre good bang for the buck subs.. I got a pair of older ones, the gray cone and black dust cap. Way underpowering them at the moment with only 125 rms to each one haha and they move enough, just need a bigger amp. Dono what your planning to pay for them, but they are pretty cheap now at most places, hell used ones can be had for around 100 a pair.

thats cool and yeah I saw some pretty good prices on them around the net. money is gonna be a little tight for me so I was plan on powering them with the kickerzx 400 or 300 mono amp..... I want the system in my car before school starts back up again...

They wont pound real hard with that little power, but it will do fine for now. But unless you already got the amp, more powerful amps can be had for the same price as a kicker im pretty sure. You could find a hifonics or similar for much cheaper and get more power to them.

My friend just bought some brand new in box with warranty for 150$.Has them in a sealed box way off spec(biggest box we can fit in his mustang without building it inside the car) and they hit. He's running them off a BXi1206D. They sound really good and hit hard.

Same here, i had my two in some "truck" boxes that were home made from previous owner, well below 1 cube each box and even off a smaller amp under 200 rms they would get decently loud.

In that case id go for something else other than kicker since your on a budget. Check out the hifonics amps. I havent owned any, but i most likely will buy one soon. Theyre supposed to be some pretty decent amps and i know you can get more watts for your dollar with a hifonics. Kickers are more pricey.

I would prolly go for the dual 4 ohm model on the subs.. Then get a mono block capable of doing 1 ohm. Either that or you can get a 2 channel and run each channel at 2 ohms.

I had two CVR 15, and am selling them because for my ears, they had bad SQ for certain music genres, such as some rock songs. If you are planning to hear to music like techno, rap, reggae and the like, the CVR will do incredibly fine, with great sound and SPL. However, don't expect the same from songs with many rapid notes, since these subwoofers don't blend very well. This is the only defect I found from these subwoofers after two years of use.

Also, I had the CVRs on a sealed box made with the kicker recommended measures and installed by experienced kicker technicians, including the best 7-band equalization possible for rock songs. So I think the best SQ was being propelled from them as well, but to no avail.
