kicker CVR problems

So i've been trying to get 2 12" CVRs in my car so i ordered a second one and it had some problem where it was making a rattling noise and the cone was kinda stiff to move so i sent it back and got a replacement. the replacement i got yesterday seems like the cone is pushed in too far when its not hooked up. i'm not sure if thats really bad for it. but i installed both subs in my box which is way too small for my subs. maybe 1.5 cubes ported. its kinda a temporary thing til i build a box. but anyway, the two subs sound fine but the one i had from before seems to be moving A LOT more than the one i just got. i tried changing the phase of one of them to see if maybe i wired one out of phase but it was still the same. it doesn't seem like i'm getting as much output as i should be.

i know the box has a lot to do with it, but if there is something wrong with my subs, i would like to get that fixed before i go building a box.

The older sub's suspension is worn in and the new sub is still stiff thats why you will see a difference in movement between the subs, If you have a multimeter check and the ohms on each sub and check it where its going into the amp to see if anything is wrong there.

well i rewired both subs so i only had one wire coming out of my box. both subs are wired the same and then in parallel to bring it to 2 ohms final. i'm probably losing a lot of output and quality because of my box. there are many leaks and it was originally meant for 2 10s and was cut bigger to fit 2 12's. temporarily i might just try and caulk the edges to seal most of the leaks and run that box for a bit and build a new one soon.

when i got the second sub, the cone was kinda in further than it was supposed to be, is that a problem? i mean it looked a little better today after running it a little bit yesterday, is that something that just has to wear out like the stiffness?

the box is small for 2 12s for daily use as far as the new sub it just has to wear in
