kicker 2500.1 or hifonics xx colossus

iv owned the 2500.1 and loved it but i was thinking of trying the hifonics. i would think the kickers a better amp but the hifonics "SAYS" its more power which we all know can be a little mis leading at times lol. so help me out which is the more powerful amp

xx-colossus or the colossus II is for sure more effcient and the xx-colossus does around 4kw!!!

Is it really more efficent? i thought the kicker was a pretty darn efficent amp. Didn't it beat out teh IA 20.1 and the orion 2500d in an efficency comparison.

The hifonics xx-colossus II will do around 3300wrms@2ohms on 13volts i know, and the kicker to me is not worth a penny, the kx2500 i had in my tahoe for a week dropped down to 12.8volts at 2000rpms, and with both of my GD6001s doing 3020wrms each over 6kw total only dropped down to 13.2 volts at idle, the kickers are not effecient!!

no hifonics is not over rated at all! ive had 2 dif ones i had a XXV Thor it clamped 3347wrms@13.4v and the XXV Cyclops im borrowing clamped at 4287wrms@13.1. im trying to save up and by this amp, i would recommend hifonics having first hand experiance with the XXV line.

The hifonics will give you all the power you will ever need, there solid amps, and hands down would run hifonics over kicker anyday, and chevyboy10 i would do like a MRD-1005 alpine or something like that, there effecient and do all of there rated power and a lil more!!

if i got a colossus its 2 channal how could you run 3 subs to 2 channals?

The colossus is a 2 ch but you can bridge it also for 2.66ohms, with your three subs, and see right around 2900-3000wrms out of it at that ohm load!

i would think that u def should get 3400 solid rms watts if u have the voltage to keep it above 13v at full tilt.

yes Tommy k something did a test and if I remeber correctly , it did around 3000 @ about1.5 ohms on 13.8 volts, very efficent amp...never had any dealings with Hifonics amps...would be interesting to get more input from guys who have ran both amps with experience.
