Kicker

I owned two 12" Kicker CVTs in a sealed enclosure with 2.36ft^3 running off of a 1000.1 amplifier.

Subs got pretty loud.

Im looking to get good SQ. Are the cvts the best choice for this or is there a better shallow sub. Also, is 3 going to give me better SQ than 2.

Kicker doesn't make SQ subs. I keep hearing from people that Kenwood makes a pretty good shallow sub that dishes out some decent SQ.

Do you know what your mounting depth is like, there are a few of other decent subs out there that are relatively shallow but not necessarily catagorized as a shallow mount sub. Also what is your time frame on purchase of these subs. Might want to check out http://www.stereointegrity.com for their new Mag's that should be coming out soon, or if you can wait longer they will be releasing their new BM's which are a very shallow sub.

I think the clarion shallow mount got good reviews for its sound quality. 3 versus 2 will only change the output as long as you radd the extra power accordingly. I am pretty sure that 2 will most likely already overpower your front stage, then again your preference on sound quality could be totally different than others.

Thats not much space, 5 inches is pushin it. I've got lots of time to buy them. I drive a jeep with a 10 in pioneer sub from walmart in it. So I guess i have no idea what sound quality is.

In this case the kicker is a lot better than the pioneer but they but **** at SQ... but i heard the kenwood shallow sub and i have to say that the SQ was very good, much better than most of the shallow subs that i've heard.

Kicker CVTs put out a good sounding bass if not intreted in Kicker i know JL and Memphis just came out with some shallow subs as well.
