based on my friend having his hooked up to a bx1500d at 2 ohms (1000 watts) i would say yes, but watch the gain very carefully. i know those kickers put out much more than 1200

I smoked a voice coil(I think) running one type r in a sealed box on my buddies 850rms kenwood amp. Smoke was blowing out of the port. We turned it off and saved it but still..

As long as you set you gain correctly without going overboard, you should be fine.

The sub was already wired in the box, we set it in the back of my buddies truck and hooked it up. Bumped for a few before we started to smell it. Then we saw the smoke and shut it off. I've been using the shit out of the sub for about 4 weeks since and its still hitting hard. The sub was wired in parallel and the amp was suposedly OK at 2ohm.

I have burped two Type-R 15s on an Orion 2500d @1 ohm (~2500 watts) many times for sound offs. I ran them daily @4 ohms for about 1200w. They got plenty hot sometimes(burps), but lasted for a good six months. Hell one of them is still good.

Get two dual 4s, One wont last long with the full 1400 or so watts that amp puts out
