Kicker 06ZX650.4 problems

I was re-adjusting the gains in my wifes car yesterday (she has a Kicker 06ZX650.4 powering Polk comps and Polk 6x9's). As I was turning the gain knob on the amp, I could hear small crackles of static. They sounded like they were coming out of the amp itself. It isn't constant, and I could only hear it as I was turning the knob. Once I released the gain knob, I don't hear it anymore. Is the amp shot?

that is caused by dust getting into the gain pot... you can buy some contact lube at radioshack if it gets any worse..

spray directly into the knob and work the gain back and forth.. i always use compressed air to blow out any excess oil......

So this isn't something to be concerned with? Just blow it out?
