Kenwood vs type r

hey my friend has two Kenwood kfc-w3011 (1200w peak, 400 rms) connected to a Kenwood kac-08103d (1000w max) amp.

And I am getting a single 12" alpine type r (500 rms 1200w peak) with an alpine MRP-M850 (800 x 1) amp...

My question is would the alpine be louder and have better bass than the kenwoods?

Chances are, his system will be louder since he's moving more air. As far as quality, it's all subjective. I've never liked how the Type R sounds.

There are much better subs for the price of a Type R btw.

Meaning either the box the SS was in was junk or he just wants some loud *** crap sounding subs. I'm guessing it's the latter. And you've never heard the R, but you're going to buy it. Makes total sense to me.

As for your question since he has the kenwood set up and you're getting the R, compare them and see for yourself as how the hell should anyone on here have the answer. well i have a type r and i run it mono...and its sure as hell louder then those kenwoods..i have heard many of those kenwoods and sold them...i think the r sounds much better...but the kenwoods are nice for there price...but a r at 850 i bet would sound real nice....ear plugs!!!! o no....i think u should go kenwood the r might be to loud for u
