Kenwood V-Offset??

On my Kenwood head unit, I found a setting called V-Offset. Right now its on zero. Turning the knob can reduce to either -15 or +15. It seems like it has something to do with increasing or decreasing volume. So I just want to know what this setting actually does and if it would be okay to raise it up?

hmm. So its like balancing the tuner and the cd/ipod aux input volumes or something? When I tried it, it increased the volume on the aux output to match my tuner volume. Suprised I got no clipping.
