Kenwood subs....

No no no, it is NOT a good setup. I used to have those... KFC-3005. Their SQ is crap and... I accidently blew em a few too many times. They sound good until you hear something else. I got these Infinity Reference 1220w's and they sound much better and can handle more power. Your setup is aparently a very cheap setup. You may be satisfied with it but most of the people here probably wouldn't be.

I'm curious, how much did you spend? I got mine for like $150 at circuit city with a sealed box (1.25 cu ft per sub). I made sure to get the 2 year warranty, and I returned fried subs like 3 times then decided to get the Infinitys instead, which actually costed less, sans the box. I ended up getting the box for free after returning the Kenwoods though, the Infinity's were like $100 for the pair, plus $15 each for the two year warranty (although they no longer carry these subs, I suppose I could upgrade to something else at CC if I decide to).

My honest advice would be to return the subs and amp if you still can.

u could make ur setup better by building a better box for em. Im assuming ur using a pre-fab box. Build a 3/4 mdf wood box. Sealed for SQ. If u want them to get louder put them in a ported box. Many members here can show u how to do so.

He's happy with them, that's all that matters ...
not only that but to a considerable extent how a driver soudns will depend much on the qualioty and size of its enclosuer.

also, whenever the opportunitry arises, try to replace that Jensen amplifier //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the subs arent bad bad, but they seem ok for now. replace the amp firts, tehn when you feel like it, go for different subs.

on a budget, check the eD k's or re se's

Thx guys. um, the jensen amp will be the first to go, but i pick'd that 4 channel up cheap, it'll work for powering component front and rears (once i get mo' money) right?? Also, the box isn't a prefab, it's design'd off a large competition 10' box, but i slim'd down the top a few inches. the kenwoods said they were fer 1=2 feet air inside. it's also made out of 3/4' high-drade plywood (ran outta money before i could carpet it, lol) and is sealed w/ two seperate chambers inside.

Redford, i got the whole setup here, plus wiring for 140. the subs have prolly 'bout a year left at CC *smilez*
