Kenwood skipping...new recomendation

I have a KDC-X979 which btw is really a top notch deck in my eyes...has everything and more on it, but it skips when I had my prevoius system at full tilt (15" re sx,bx1500d) and have a bigger system on the way...dont know if its because its an older HU or my bracing or what. I may need to sell it which I really dont want to do, but anyway...Do any of u know of any decent decks for >$275...$300 that has anti-skip/anti-shock memory on it?

If its because its an older HU please let me kno...I will prolly just get a Eclipse CD5000, CD7000 if it is.

yknow my kdc 790 skips ALOT when i play regular cd's i dont understand it. even my mp3 discs are beginning to skip, now i soleley use my ipod through auxilliary because of it. like you, i love my kenwood deck, but it sucks that it skips.

WOW! I have never had any problem like that. I used to have the excelon X-589 and now have the X-990. I have been very happy with both decks. No skipping whatsoever. Sorry to hear that. Have you talked to Kenwood about this issue?

Ok. I need a good deck for under $250 that has anti-skip/shock memory on it. My KDC-X979 is skipping because of my setup. What do u have or give me a link too one.

I have a kdc-x890 and it sometimes skip as well, but I think its because my cds are getting scratched too much.
