Kenwood LCD HU subwoofer control

I am considering buying a 7xxx series Kenwood double din HU with the USB and NAV. Does anyone have experience with these? I cannot find a good review. I was wanting to hear about the usb mp3 quality and the overall sound quality. I will be using the hp crossover and Sub control (no room for additional 1/2 din eq or preamp).

My main question however is about the control of your sub with the lcd touchscreen control. Does it **** when trying to control 1000+ watt sub?

I was able to look at an old pioneer LCD it it appeared to have only like 6-8graduations of volume for the sub, thats not very fine in terms of control.
