Kenwood KMM-104RY problem with subwoofer

Hello,

I've recently bought this receiver. My main problem is that subwoofer starts working only when it reach 20-25 of volume. In manual it says that you can choose pre-out (rear/sub-w or rear/subwoofer). In my receiver I only found rear/sub-w or rear. I understand that subwoofer starts working when speakers hits bass. I need it to work always, no matter of sound level. Is it anything I can do? Or maybe someone had it before?

Most HU will have 3 pre outs listed as front, rear, and sub-w. You'll want to use the sub-w part. However, I'm having a hard time understanding your unit. Is there a pic of the back of the unit or link to one? Sounds like you have 2 sub outputs from your description.

Switchable RCA's??!! Wow that's something new. Ok so if I had to make a guess, within the HU itself, you can choose either sub-w pre out or rear pre out. I would put it on sub-w preout and somewhere within the HU should be a subwoofer level adjuster, which will increase the bass for ya....prob subwoofer reference level adjustment.

Ok might add that since that HU has low voltage inputs, the gain on your amp may have to be turned up more than usual. May have to mess around with the settings on the unit to get the sound you want. It's gonna take time to do....not an overnight thing to accomplish.
