Kenwood KDC-X891 Error (help)

Ok I have recently been getting an error code on my X891. The errror is ( Meca Error) this happens 85% of the time when I try to play a CD or USB device. It seems to be getting worse. To get around this error I will disconnet my bat ground to reset the stereo and the stereo will then work for a little wihile. The manual says for that error something is wrong with the disc magazine or the unit is malfunctioning. Have any way to fix this? Also if I hook up to decks and use one at a time how much will this effect the SQ of my speakers due to using a splitter? Thanks
