Kenwood KDC-x792 No sound to RCA HELP!

i have the kenwood kdc-x792

have you been able to hook rca's to the unit? Im wondering if there is a setting i have to choose to send the signal throu the rca's. i have the rcas hook up and i can hear a faint sound coming throu. I have checked the rca's and they are perfect. I thought it was the amp. but then i hook up the rca and then hooked up a speaker (that i know works) to the end of the rca and nothing but a very faint sound. Its the same for all 3 rca outputs. anyone got any cluse?
