Hi,

What you think about this kenwood HU?

At moment I have Pioneer DEH-7400MP HU and want to change it to Kenwood KDC-W7531Y. Some tell that Kenwood s**ks? Why, any good reason? I dont need some super-quality HU, just easy to use HU with normal quality sound. I dont have enay woofers in my car just little above average sound speakers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I dont like mostly that Pioneer dont have PAUSE and ATT/MUTE buttons, and I have 6 pointless so called channel-buttons when I listen CD-s on Pioneer HU ....! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

Sorry my bad english, I'm from Estonia (Europe) and english is my second language //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I messed around with that deck the other day. The display might be hard for some to read but other than that it seemed much better than past Kenwood decks. They have really stepped up with better materials and it feels better.

If you go with kenwood I would suggest the excelon line. I like kenwood I dont see anything wrong with it I have th excelon 879in my car I like it. Maybe look at the 889 model. I also have an alpine in my truck

its been many years since i've come across a real good Kenwood deck- 5-6yrs x915's/911's

no experience with their current lineup but their high end decks look good on paper

Sorry to hear that no excelon series in europe. I have had a reugular kenwood hu 911 I think it was a good unit. I gave it to my girlfreind at the time when I got my excelon 817 or something like that. Now I have my 879. The regular kenwood is still running stron in my exs car and that has to be 6-7 years old now. I say get that unit youre looking at

When Kenwood initially introduced the eXcelon line of higher-end gear only the head units and video monitors actually had 'eXcelon' printed anywhere on the actual unit. The early eXcelon amps were specified with the initials 'PS' in their model numbers and 'Performance Standard' printed on the amps' bodies. Speakers and subs were separated from the regular gear with the initials 'HQ' in their model numbers.

After looking a bit more closely at that webpage I would say that the overseas units with 'PS' in the model numbers are going to be the European-market equivilent to our eXcelon stuff.

Nice **** decks, IMO. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

edit: My 100th post...umm...whoopee, I guess???

I would say that the 9531 is like our 889. I would recommend that one. I was going to get the 889 but I ordered my 879 a month or so before the 889 came out I wish I wouldve waited
