kenwood kdc-319 Question?

I have a kenwood kdc-319. Every once in a while (once a week) the unit will stop putting out sound. I will be driving on a smooth road while listening to a cd and the sound just goes away for a couple of seconds and then comes back. My question is: Is this a problem that anyone else has experienced and is it something I could fix?
