Kenwood DNX5160 HU and XM

New to the forum but trying to get this sorted out. KCA-XM100V is kenwoods adapter for the xm mini tuner. On their website and crutchfield, the 5140/5120 supported this interface, but the 5160 does not. I was wondering if anybody possibly has this HU and tried it anyway because I find it hard to believe that the previous model would support it but the new one not. Thanks in advance

PS - I am trying to keep the xm because I still have 2 years already paid on my subscription and I just want to be able to maintain control of the xm receiver through the HU rather than an extra tuner on the dash
