kenwood CD accepting?

Just got a kenwood kdc mp4032 and i have it all hooked up. It powers and the screen says "standby". I flip the screen down and try to put a CD in but it wont **** them in.. i pressed eject and theres no CD in there... How do i get it to take in CD's? Im confused...

so, i can get it from standby to Tuner by pressing the SRC button.. But i cannot find a CD option anywhere, and im guessing i have to be on CD for it to accept CD's.

Any thoughts?

(id read the manual but it didnt come with one)
