KDLX994 and Droid Bionic Bluetooth question

I have the Kenwood KDLX994 and a Droid Bionic. Music plays fine from pandora and slacker. I just don't get any bass. Is it the phone or the head unit? Is it even possible to get bass to my subs through bluetooth? I have been searching for an answer for days now. Still haven't found anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated so I can stop pulling out what little hair I have left.

there is an equalizer app you can download for the bionic that should let you turn your bass up on the phone. if that doesn't work its gotta be the receiver, because the phone does have bass. it does kinda kill the bass going wireless but not completely

Sorry I should have elaborated. My subs don't work at all. I can hear some slight bass out of my highs. It is usually distorted more than I would like. I was hoping to get my subs to work. Anyone have an idea why the subs don't hit when playing music through bluetooth?
