So I lost sound in my right door about two weeks ago. Today my left went out as well. I pulled the HU out and tried a different unused pair of RCA's and got nothing. Reset the HU and got nothing. Put a DMM on my amp and saw nothing wrong, still getting power through my channels. So i started messing with my HU settings and got to the DSP setting. It gave me two options, DSP Through and DSP Bypass. When I turn it to bypass I get sound! When I turn it through I get some light pop sounds and then it fades out to nothing. DSP allows me to use the 13 band EQ and adjust frequencies and all the nice little things this HU has to offer. Is my chipset fried? Cause from the symptoms it sure seems like it is.

OK, so turn your music on at moderate listening level and unplug the battery/alternator and see how long that capacitor keeps things playing...
