KDC-X991 and external harddrive

I have the Kenwood KDC-X991 and a western digital 250Gig HD. USB cable is the only thing that connects this hd. It doesn't require external power.

What do I have to do to make it work with this deck?

it will not work, a bus powered hard drive and a flash drive have different formats. I've been through all this before on my 791

ur 250gb wont plug and play in the kenwood ..u need a power converter for HD that big .. my homie just got a kenwood 792 and he's 160GB hd wont work but when i take my HD (which i have a power converter and its a 250gb hd ) it works fine on he's deck and on my pioneer 690UB
