First of all, don't call me bubba. Also, I'm not mad because I've gone off topic in many threads before so I can't really talk much.

Back on the original topic: Have you ever been to a mall and checked CD prices?? I've seen them break the $20 barrier for a regular single CD. Not even a new realease either. But thats neither here nor there. The fact is the RIAA gouged us for years when the cost of making a CD had gone down they continued to charge more and more. In fact, Sony Music once had to pay alot of money in a class action suit against them for price gouging. I personally used to download music to see if I liked it or not and if I did I would buy the CD. Because in reality a downloaded MP3 pales in comparison to CD in quality.

All I'm saying is that they gouged us for all those years and when THE PEOPLE deceided to push back they call "foul". I say fuck'em.

calm down there bubba. why in gods name would any person with a brain inbetween their ears buy a cd at the mall? go to best buy, circuit city, target and buy them.

i do agree price gouging on cd's is horrible but it's worse on DVD's. DVD's cost from what i was told maybe .02 cents more than a cd to make and you NEVER find DVD's for under 20 bucks, at least not new. hell the HD-DVD and blu ray are going to be a min of 30.

I'm not saying I do. I've always bought new CDs at Target when possible. Older CDs I just go to the nearest USED CD store where I can get them for $7 or less. Almost 1/2 of my collection is used.

CD's are in trouble...I don't see the trend of declining sales picking up anytime soon. Instead of just buying the CD, lead-eared consumers will simply turn to paid downloading services to fill up their MP3 players with compressed drivel.

If I know the truth about something I'm going to post it. Plain and simple. If you have no input on this subject then why are you posting off topic in this thread?? You should delete your post now for being off topic if you want to get technical. As as far as I am concerned on this subject..................I am the one who started this thread so I would think I had some say in the matter.

P.S. Arguing and debating are 2 different things. I have argued in the past and will argue in the future about certain subjects but in this thread I debated only.

I am what I am and certainly won't change for you or anyone else. You say this the off topic section and yet you want to know why I want to debate. That doesn't make much sense to me.

Furthermore, I've been doing debating on this forum for quite a while now but you never really said much until I got a little heated with you about our president. Seems to me you are carrying a little grudge against me now. Well, just remember you're a mod and that is your job now, so why don't you just keep it at that. LOL, I havent seen a music store in a mall in like 8 years... I remember when there was 2 music stores in my local mall and people wandering thru them looking thru piles of CD's... now all you see is ipods or phones with Mp3 storage for sale at stores everywhere.

Shitty compressed music is here to stay bubbas....haha

However Vinyl is making a comeback in a big way, I always get a giggle when I hear a Vinyl released track ripped to mp3.
