i recently saw an article in a fishing magazine about kayak fishing in the north east. did a bit of searching on teh web and it seems pretty popular everywhere. i was wondering if anyone on here has one? i mean shit , i know im getting one. theyre cheap , no insurance , no gas , no boat ramp needed and its just ****in pimp.

youtube videos for those who dont know..

ive got a pontoon kayak, it has a seat in the middle of two inflatable ponton's.. has a little rack in the back for all my fishing gear, you just paddle around from place to place with ur feat, it's made strickly for fishing. some times i'll just load it up with beer and cruise down the river...

it's very nice and relaxing to cruise around the lake and do some bass fishing..

pimp shit.

as soon as i move (maybe before) to NC , im getting one. beer , snacks and fishing? sounds great to me.

this is the one im planing on getting - http://malibukayaks.com/kayak_minix.asp . small enough for me to throw on the top of my truck by myself if im in a hurry and it seems stable enough to stand on. pretty cheap too. around $700 for one of the nicer packages. instead of $12g + for one of the tracker boats that i want so bad. cant wait.

mine was 310 after tax. thing is sweeeeet. fit's right in the back seat of my acura. get to where i want and inflate it with a 12v pump. and im off!, got my self a goofy looking hat to keep the sun off my head, has cup holder's on it... might have to go out today..

i had a kayak back in the day, there sweet if you just want to cruise around a lake or a stream... but i didnt find them to be to favorable to a fisherman..

alot of people use kayaks. quite a few companies design them just for fishing and/or diving. personally i wouldnt use an inflatable one. all you need to do is get cought on some oysters or sharp debris in the water and youre swimming back.

i was worried about the same. but it has a tough fabric wraping around the rubber.. ive actually caught my hook on once or twice.. so far so good..
