Kappa Perfect 12.1 possibly blown?!

Alright..well I've had my ups and downs with this sub. I'm running the 12.1 SVC off a rockford 500s amp in a sealed box at 4 ohms. It sounded great and hit hard for the first couple of days. It started acting funny and cutting out..on and off for a couple of days..until I realized that my sister had knocked the power wire from its slot and down close enough to the ground wire that a spark had started jumping from between the two. I quickly corrected that and chopped off the section of the power wire that had been burned. Putting all the wires back in place and having everything working right..it worked fine for 2 days..then in the middle of Eminem's "Superman" it just stopped..the sub made a noise like it was trying to work..but was stuck. Made a clicking type noise and the cone moved slightly, but no bass. Thinking I had blown it I disconnected it and let it sit for a few days. Tried hooking it up to my friends amp (rockford 700s)..(he's running the same sub) and it started working again..I was amazed. So I hooked it back up to mine..and Voila..it worked. Until I started turning the bass back up to its original levels..on several frequencies at medium to loud volume it rattles..LOUD. I know it's not tinsel slap because I tried felting it to get it to stop, but it didn't help. It's almost like the cone is going too far out (the gains are still set where they were when it worked fine, I actually turned them down a little). It is really starting to ****..any ideas?

Also..if this sub is F*ed up...what would be a good sub for SQ running off the 500s?

hey mine did that then i got them back and after about 3 more days they just move and you can put your ear beside them adn there is barely any sound coming out at all anyone no what could do that?

Well I think that may have been the VC getting jammed..but I'm more worried about that rattling/banging type noise..

Mine does the same thing.. sounds great at anything but really high volume.. rattles when I pump it. In my esteemed opinion, its ****ed up and there ain't anything else to say about it. Blown voice coil is what I tell people mine has, but I'm not sure. If you have a warranty get a new one and if not buy an e12kd2. edesignaudio.com - Cheaper than the perfect, more durable, and better SPL, SQ is about the same.

Hmm..that's kinda strange, my friend is running his identical sub off a rockford 700s..and it's working fine..I guess I'll just turn my gains and bass boost down and replace it w/my other perfect..
