Kangaroux's 99 Pathfinder

Idk what is is, but that sub looks way more beefy in your pics than any other pic I have seen it in.
Do you have any access to a meter?
Yeah all of the pictures i've seen of it don't do it any justice. I tried to take pics that really capture the size of this thing.

Meter as in term lab? Yeah I do, I don't want to meter it until I get a new aero port in there and get my tuning up though. I would say it's doing at least high 30's, possibly a 40. I would be testing it at like 28-32hz so I'm not expecting crazy numbers lol

Not bad not bad
I'd love to see the #'s its producing.
Same considering I've never metered any of my setups before. Should be a good bit louder now too after doing some port work. Cut out the 2 4's that were in there and replaced it with an 8" tuned to 40hz as opposed to my old tuning of 35.

Cut out an area to mount the new port

Cut the port down to 16" (once it's in the box it will load off the rear wall and extend the length out to 24" for a tuning of 40hz)

Figured out this cool technique when I was working with the PVC ports. Makes attaching the ports SO much easier.

Also, if you don't have a router and can't cutout the circle for the port perfectly and there is a gap between the port and the wood, then use the method above to hold it in place, liquid nails one side of the wood to seal it up, then flip it over and pour some glue into the gap. The liquidnails will seal it off from air leaks and also holds the glue in place while it hardens.

After getting the new port installed output from 40hz+ went up a lot, but output below 33hz dropped significantly (either a result from raising the tuning, adding port area, or both..)

Unfortunately the port noise is still bad even after doubling my port area so getting something that's flared is a must. I'm thinking of going with a single 6" port, with the 8" port it's a bit too peaky for my liking. ~25 sqin. of port has a very flat response and digs deep which is what I was looking for -- a musical setup that can get loud.

Glad to see you got it put on without fail this time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/thumbsup.gif.3287b36ca96645a13a43aff531f37f02.gif
Yep...taped it down the center, wet the windshield real good and had no problems getting it on. Took me a while to get it on well (I think I used a little too much soap so it made getting all of it dry a pain) but it was worth it.
