Done myself at work today. First time using the xtreme chrome as the base, then the candy. If the amps weren't scratched, you could put the candy right over the anodizing. Since I bead blasted the anodizing off, I needed to put something on as the base. The xtreme chrome is very similar looking to the stock orion look.

As I was told, PC is one of the best insulators there is.

You may have heat issues.
