I was wondering if any new if the old Kenwood amps were underated. I found a KAC-744 that i can get my hands on, but i want to know if its worth it to put it on my comps. The specs are 40w a ch, but i know the old Kenwoods and old alpines use to stay clean at high volume. Tell me what you guys think!!

i have a 2ch kenwood KAC-729S. Rated for 300RMS bridged to 4 ohms. I got em on two 8" kicker compVR's rated at 200RMS a piece. Gain is set at 3/4, which would be like 140 per sub, but it gives the kickers quite the workout.
