JVC kd-s29 preset problem

Hi Folks, Hoping someone can help me out. I recently bought a pick up that has an JVC KD-S29 aftermarket stereo system. The system seems too basically work well, and doesn't sound bad. My problem is that the tuner continually defaults back to this one crappy Public Broadcasting station in our area. The unit holds preset stations when I store them and the strong station search function is deselected. I have disconnected power and re-set the unit. It still returns to the one station any time I shut the vehicle off. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

the radio is incorrectly wired to battery and ignition. you need to pull the radio out and fix the wiring such that the yellow radio wire is 12V constant/battery and the red radio wire is 12V switched ignition. if those wires are reversed, your problem will happen.

which wires in your vehicle are 12V constant and 12V switched ignition varies for each vehicle. you can look up your vehicle wiring colors here:

Thanks for the info man, I'll scope out the wiring this weekend! I'll let you know how it turns out.

Hey man, you nailed it. I pulled the unit, sure enough the red and yellow wires were reversed. Also, the entire wiring harness was half assed spliced in, wires just twisted together with a little tape. I soldered everything together, swapped those wires, and reinstalled it. Everything now works as it should. Thanks for your help!!
