Has anyone used one of these? a search on here brings up no results at all, and there are not many reviews online either. It looks pretty smart, but I have never owned a JVC so not sure what their quality is like.

Any opinions on this one?

Thanks.

Well.. I have the KD-AVX33, which is just last years version of the 44.

I am very pleased with it, specifically the DVD player, Bluetooth Phone, and USB flash drive access.

JVCs are great HU, had absolutely no problems with it.

Thanks for the replies, the NX5000 looks nice, but I don't need navigation. The built in USB, bluetooth and dual zone are drawing me towards the AVX44. At this rate I might actually make my mind up on a new HU by Christmas!

I used the kd-Avx33 as well. It was a great unit and it put out lots of preout voltage to the amps. Their was no noise at all. Jvc's in general dont have the noise rejection of kenwoods, pannys or alpines though. I know this from using lots of HU's

Seriously, I am taking that long picking a HU. Every week I find something else to take a look at, I kind of want to take my time as my last HU purchase was not exactly a happy experience (I hated it).

I will be p*ssed though if it gets to xmas and I do not have a new HU. I already have amps and a sub waiting to be installed, and have a pretty decent idea on speakers, just need to get the source picked.

The only problem I've had with JVC is their XM satellite feature. Last years model was billed as being sat radio ready, yet it wasn't. The 44 or the 5000 model. JVC actual ended up paying me for the head unit and installation of the unit. I bought the series before that, and it is sat radio ready but only works half the time. In the morning it's perfect, in the afternoon good luck with it. It will just say loading. Other than that, they are good. Sat radio is a must for me though. I like the new units, but I'd like to know if they addressed last years problems with sat radio before I buy a new one.
