JVC Headunit issues

I have a jvc headunit, not sure what the model is right now but when ever I put a cd in the radio turns off and on again and again. If I hit source and change it to the radio then it stays on. It will eject the cd but just cycles on and off. Next when I have the radio volume up around 28 it does the same thing, cycles on and off. When I plug my ipod up to the head unit it only allows the volume up to about 20 and then starts to cycle on and off. If I turn the volume down while on the radio or usb the unit works fine. Has anyone ever had this type of problem?

Shutting off at a volume level is usually a short in speaker wiring or internal damage or grounding . Cycling on/off when you newer a cd is strange.

Check your ground, take it to car metal.
